Description
Compact, economical and suitable for various medical purposes.
The award winning Sierra Advantage digitizer, developed by VIDAR Systems Corporation, represents significant advancements in the film digitizer technology sector. Unlike other similar devices, it is devoid of a number of disadvantages characteristic of the quality, price and size of these devices. The ACR (American College of Radiology) compliant SIERRA Advantage is an economical digitizer that can be used in the peripheral areas of a medical center and digitize a small amount of film. SIERRA Advantage is small enough to be easily hung on the wall and thus save space, the lack of which is a common problem in hospitals in general and in X-ray rooms. The digitizer is equipped with a simple USB connection system and LED lighting lamp; you can choose the 10-sheet ADF or one sheet. Thanks to the next generation high definition CCD (HD-CCD®, a registered trademark of VIDAR) and the unique Automatic Digitizer Calibration (ADC) function, almost 100% image quality stability and excellent gray scale are guaranteed in every image. The SIERRA Advantage digitizer is fully RoHS-compliant and can meet all the requirements of medical professionals, offering them an excellent price / performance ratio in a compact unit that fits perfectly into a variety of environments and work environments, including patient reception.
Maintenance-free and low-maintenance device.
Unlike other digitizers, which need to be calibrated or cleaned every two years, VIDAR digitizers require neither service nor calibration, which translates into an approximate savings of € 1,500 annually. The straight-through method of film passage reduces the need for expensive repairs to clear film jams (the cost of such operations starts from 400 €). Replacement of individual parts, on-site service, shipping of the unit and the cost of repairs in the factory - all these services for laser digitizers can cost up to 3400 € per year. This significant difference in price is confirmed by a comparative study by PACS expert Michael Cannavo: an analysis of the total costs of owning the device over 3 years shows that the cost of a laser digitizer significantly exceeds the cost of SIERRA Advantage.
Clinically proven image quality.
In keeping with VIDAR's tradition, SIERRA Advantage delivers outstanding image quality. A comparative study of SIERRA Advantage and a Kodak LS75 laser digitizer by the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology showed that there was no difference in image quality from both devices and that radiologists were unable to prioritize one over the other when presented with digitized radiological images. ... In addition, the Johns Hopkins University ROC (Receiver Operator Characteristic) study concluded that a radiologist can make a correct diagnosis using both original film and images digitized with SIERRA Advantage at a high-resolution workstation.
The SIERRA Advantage, backed by first-class VIDAR support, guarantees maximum stability, image consistency and ease of use.
The radiologist no longer needs to burden his staff with additional work: he can be sure that the digitized images are an accurate representation of the printed film, and rely on more detailed and complete information in his diagnosis. Combining unparalleled image quality, highest reliability, compact design and low maintenance costs, SIERRA Advantage is the most economical ACR-compliant digitizer on the market.
